James R. Lee

James R. Lee is a founder of Lee & Partners and KX Labs.

After graduating from the US Army and Navy Academy at age 13, he went on to study at the Beijing Language and Culture University, LSE, Georgetown and Harvard Kennedy School. Lee is a Fellow at the Wharton School and is active on various boards at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2011, Lee was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.

Lee was honoured by INDEX:, the world’s largest design prize, as one of the ‘Top 30 Creative Leaders in the World’. In 2013, Lee was recognized by Business Life as one of the world’s Ten Most Influential Business Professors. He was the Chairman of Samsung Design & Innovation (DK) and has led internationalization efforts on behalf of companies including, Li & Fung, LG and POSCO.

Lee is an advisor to the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Trade and Investment and KPMG's Global China Practice M3 Initiative in partnership with the Development Research Center of China’s State Council.

He is a Founding Curator of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community; member of the Danish Foreign Policy Society; Milken Institute and Chatham House.

Lee also serves on several non-profit boards including the Global Advisory Board of IN{LUDED, Mercy Corps’ East Asia Advisory Council and was elected in 2016 to the Board of Governors of the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts under the Patronage of the Prince of Wales.
